The new gantry from euroTECH, which is integrated into a cantilever racking system, picks half-formats via four linear picking and depositing stations. The efficient and space-saving stacker handles formats measuring up to 2,800 mm x 2070 mm with a maximum weight of 200 kg. The flexible handling solution can be supplemented with additional stations as required.
At one of the largest manufacturers of wood-based materials for the furniture and construction industry in Europe, the innovative euroTECH portal handles semi-finished products such as chipboard and lightweight panels with different dimensions semi-automatically or fully automatically. The stacker was integrated into the existing storage and racking system according to specifications and therefore did not require a separate supporting structure. The order picking system, which is suspended on rails, serves four storage and retrieval stations over a length of 12 meters.
The electrically operated scissor lift element attached to the guide carriage lowers the installed light metal suction frame at the removal point. The freely positionable flat suction cups rest on the stack of panels, while a powerful side channel blower with reversing valve provides the required vacuum. Four additionally installed bellows suction cups guarantee effective panel separation.
The suction traverse lifts the safely suctioned sheet, and the half-size sheet is transported to the desired delivery station via the rail guide. Toothed belt, geared motor with integrated DC brake and incremental encoder ensure the required accuracy. During depositing, an integrated measuring system ensures that the panel is deposited precisely and cannot float away. To protect the sensitive components, a separate suction set is used to lift the sometimes dirty protective plates.
The gantry developed for the wood and furniture industry can be operated manually or fully automatically and can also be used in other industries. If required, the system can be extended with additional removal and loading stations along the horizontal axis. The efficient handling solution is suitable for a wide range of separating, sorting and picking tasks and can be linked to both warehouse logistics and production systems.
