When it comes to the automation of CNC-controlled production systems, the spectrum ranges from roller conveyors to robots. The right solution must be selected depending on the customer's requirements. Maka Systems from Nersingen has been active in the market for special CNC machines for over 60 years. Door manufacturers in particular rely on Maka's wealth of experience. For the new mechanization component, the scissor lift feed, the company from Nersingen has brought the vacuum expertise of euroTECH Handling GmbH on board.
Most of the components of Maka Systems' systems are developed and manufactured in Nersingen. This includes a new mechanization component that is already being used by several renowned door manufacturers in Europe: the scissor lift feeding system. The station is designed as a scissor arm loader that can perform horizontal and vertical movements. "Parts weighing up to 400 kg can be easily moved with our system," says Maka design engineer Markus Hepp. The key feature of this component is a special loading harness with vacuum surface grippers from euroTECH's eT-Gripper series, which, in conjunction with digital pressure monitoring, grips and recognizes a wide range of load dimensions. Surface grippers from the eT-Gripper series are predestined for applications in which loads with different surfaces, lengths, widths and/or undefined pick-up positions have to be handled. Loads with a wide variety of characteristics can be picked up one after the other without the need for retooling. It is also possible to pick up rough-sawn, dusty loads. This makes eT-Grippers particularly suitable for use in the wood and furniture industry.
The system from Maka Systems is designed as a parallel kinematic system with scissor arm, the stroke is generated via steel-reinforced toothed belts. In addition, sensor solutions for double door and fold position detection as well as stack height measurement are fully integrated. The combination of the vacuum lifting technology from euroTECH with the integrated sensor solution and the parallel kinematics from Maka Systems enables the user to achieve maximum process reliability and efficiency with consistent ease of operation. The combined synergies of the two companies unite 60 years of CNC machine expertise with 20 years of experience in vacuum lifting technology.
To date, the Maka scissor lift feeder has been used exclusively by door manufacturers. However, many other applications in the area of flat loads are also conceivable. The vacuum technology simply needs to be individually adapted to the material and lifting weight. This is where euroTECH would like to actively support Maka.
